About us

Meet Ben Ellis, our founder and Financial Planner

Ben has worked in financial services since 2002.

Looking for a new challenge he left his last position in 2015 to set up Cactus Financial Planning.

Ben specialises in working with people who want to plan seriously for their retirement, as well as owners of small to medium-sized businesses.

He has also spent nearly a decade working closely with a firm of accountants based in Bristol. This means he understand business owners, and the complexities associated with producing financial plans to meet their objectives.

Away from work Ben enjoys travel, good food, sport and physical challenges.

Ben's top five tips

Interviewed by New Model Adviser magazine, Ben gave his five top tips for running a successful business:

  1. Stay focused on the things you can control and do not get distracted by the things you cannot
  2. Do not put things off. Just get it done!
  3. Be disciplined with your time. Allocate your different job roles to certain days
  4. Stay active. Keep up your interests outside of work. Healthy body, healthy mind
  5. Do not underestimate the personal relationships with your clients
